New Newspaper Launches

We at Our House Walton Community Hub are thrilled to announce the launch of Walton Community Newspaper, a brand-new newspaper dedicated to bringing you all the latest happenings and heart-warming stories from right here in Walton.

Our mission is simple: to be the voice of our vibrant community, shining a spotlight on the incredible charities, events and everything that makes Walton such a special place to call come.

From the heart-warming stories of local community members making a difference in our community to the exciting events and every other cause in our neighbourhood deserves to be celebrated and shared with pride.

But we can’t do it without you! We want to hear from you, our amazing readers. Have a story to share? An event coming up? Or perhaps you know of a local charity that deserves recognition? Let us know, and we’ll make sure it gets the attention it deserves. Together, we can make our community even stronger.

The whole of our community has come together for him.
Patrick Gibbons, 23, collapsed at his Walton home after an incident outside a pub last December. Patrick was a real gentleman, A "real gentleman" who collapsed in his bathroom after he was allegedly attacked outside a pub remains in hospital with life-changing injuries six months on. Patrick Gibbons, 23, was outside The Black Horse pub on County Road in Walton at around 11.20pm on Friday, December 20 last year when the incident happened.
Patrick, from the County Road area, suffered a bleed on the brain and was brought to The Walton Centre where he remained in a coma for 10 weeks.  the 23-year-old has had four operations on his brain, with doctors telling the family he would not survive the fourth operation.  They said he'd never be able to communicate and that his memory had gone. Now he's identifying what's a toothbrush and what's deodorant. Joanne said she is overwhelmed with the support the family has received following the incident. She said: "The whole of our community has come together. Liverpool has been amazing, the support we've had from the people that live in our community.  Dylan Dellot, 36 and from the Kirkby area, was charged with section 18 wounding with intent in connection with the incident. He is due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on October 13.

Our House was founded in 2017 and is ran by a dedicated and enthusiastic staff and volunteers who are passionate about supporting people living in the community. We are dedicated to enhancing the local community's quality of life by battling discrimination, poverty, social exclusion, and disadvantage. Our House offers a warm and supportive environment where people can socialise, acquire useful skills, and get access to crucial information. We collaborate with community members to guarantee their participation in the creation and delivery of services to meet their changing needs.

The Our House team consists of three full time staff and forty volunteers on a range of services designed to meet the diverse needs and interests of community members. From educational workshops to recreational activities to fundraising events and volunteer opportunities. Come and see us and find out more and see page 5 for our current timetable.
